Martha, 84, of North Liberty,Ia was born in Shueyville, the daughter of Charles and Agnes(Fisher)Detert. Martha married Edwin Mekota Sep 16,1941 in Ely,Ia. Edwin and Martha lived on a farm near Solon until 1951 and then made their home in North Liberty where they lived for 40 years.Martha was devoted to her family and the farm, taking loving care of her grandchildren and great grandchildrn. Martha was an excellent gardener as shown by her beautiful flower beds. Martha is survived by her son Clair Mekota(Judy Johnson-Mekota), two grandchildren, Jeff(Beth)Mekota and Lindsay Mekota, and two great grandchildren, Lance and Ryan Mekota, all of North liberty, sister, Wilma(Don)Logan of Whittier,Ca, brothers, Wilbur Detert of Cedar Rapids, Vernon Detert of North Liberty and Don(Phyllis)Detert of Cedar Rapids, and sister-in-law, Joann Detert of Anamosa. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes, her husband, Edwin on Sep 15, 1991 and her brother Norbert Detert. Services were held at Brosh Chapel in Solon,Ia, officiated by the Rev Alicia Williams.
