On October 26, 1922 another child was born to Parley and Luella Shupe and was given the name Verle. This wonderful blessing was located on the small farm on Elberta Dr., North Ogden, Utah. This will be the eighth child born to these goodly parents.

He was preceded in death by siblings: Russell (Jewel), Beatrice (Orvil), Cyril (Josephine), Wilbert (June), Margaret (Claude), Maxine, LeGrande (Faye), Arlene (George), Owen (Lois), Janice (Lawrence), Kay, and Lamont (Deloris).

Verle is survived by one brother, Merrill “Bob” (Donna). He also had a special relationship with Shorty and Jo Thompson and their family.

Verle served in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he served in five major battles, Kwajalein, Peleliu, Leyte, Luzon, and Okinawa.

After returning home he pursued his education in the field of welding and mechanics. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor life with family and friends. He spent many enjoyable years creating a paradise in Stanley, Idaho.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
