of Richmond, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine M. Burks; his daughter, Dianne B. Griffin and husband, Jim of Chesapeake, Va.; his son, Michael K. Bryant and wife, Jeanette; four granddaughters, Heather, Amber, Ashley, and Autumn; two great-grandsons, Noah and Ethan; one brother, Josiah; three sisters, Helen, Rachel, and Christine. Mr. Burks was a retired employee of C&O Railroad, a member of Henrico Union Masonic Lodge #130 AF/AM, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, 2010 Carlisle Ave., where Mr. Burks was a lifelong member and deacon.
