Louisa A. Jones was the seventh of nine children of Abraham and Rebecca Fenton Jones. She never married. She was the last surviving member of one of Jamestown’s pioneer families.

Her paternal grandparents Solomon Jones and Clarissa Hayward arrived in Chautauqua County in 1810 and her maternal grandparents, Jacob and Lois Fenton in 1812.
