Mary Anderson Goss McGarity (McGarrity) is the daughter of James Noble Anderson and Emily Jane Denson(Denison). Mary was born in Wise County, Texas where her family first settled after leaving Stone County, Missouri. The family soon moved to Brown County, Texas and resided in the area known as the Anderson Community and Salt Creek Community. Mary's first husband was James Goss and their children are Leonard, Rosa and Lloyd Goss. After James Goss' death, Mary married William A. McGarity. William, Eudora, Daisy Josephine and Mary Ada McGarity are the children of her second union.
