Richard Lee Romine, 73, of Dandridge, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, July 7, 2016.

There were wins, draws and losses. No Stranger to war, Richard battled valiantly with it for several years as well as battled bravely in Vietnam and battled relentlessly with a little white golfball for most of his life.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, and a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Disabled American Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margret and Claude Romine; daughter, Beth Woods; and sister, Claudene Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Ella Faye Romine; sons, Richard Lee (Laura) Romine II and Russell Edward Romine; daughters, Kay (Dennis) Wise, Lora (Tim) Martin and Jeanna Presnell; grandchildren, Sadie Martin, Molly Martin, Marissa McNabb, Lindsey Romine, Noah Romine, Alex Romine, Chris (Misty) Wise and Eric Wise; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Bud (Bobbie) Romines; sister, Lois Shelton; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans.

Funeral service 7:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at Fielden Chapel with Chaplain Roy Lovin Jr. officiating. Interment 11:00 am Tuesday in Dandridge Memorial Garden with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
