William crossed the plains from St. Louis, Missouri, to Salt Lake City, Utah, with his family in 1866 as part of the John D. Holladay Company. His infant daughter, Lilly Jane, died during the journey.
He was an active member of the LDS Church.
William and his first wife, Diana, were the parents of three children.
He and second wife Martha were the parents of Alfred, Charles, Ernest, Eugene, George, John, Louise, Mattie and Sidney.
His father was William Lambourne, Sr.
