He was a poultry and cattle farmer and a dedicated member of Sardis Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He had also worked for Miller Poultry in Piedmont, Alabama. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association and served on the Board of Directors for Carroll County Farm Bureau. In 1994, he was selected as the Carroll County Farmer of the Year.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lila Stewart and grandson Jay Harrington.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
