Elizabeth or "Betsey" was born in what is today Meade County, the child of Daniel Wimp, born in York, Pennsylvania in 1793, and Rachel Welch, born in Maryland in 1801. Rachel moved to Kansas in the spring of 1873 with her son James A. Wimp and is buried in Star Cemetery in Harvey County, Kansas. Daniel Wimp was a son of Revolutionary War soldier John Wimp, born in Ireland in 1746.

Betsey Wimp married Blancit (Blant) E. Shacklett on Sept. 1, 1836 in Meade County, Kentucky. Blant was a son of Jesse B. Shacklett and Sarah Dotson.

7. James Lee Shacklett. Died Feb. 3, 1937. Burial in Nashville, Tn. Married Esther Gleen.
8. Sarah Shacklett, Married (1) Jesse Ashcraft, married (2) Joe Green Anderson. Note that Joe Green (1849-1925) is buried in the Anderson & Cundiff Cemetery in Meade County.
9. Rose Shacklett, (1854-1883). Married James W. Warmouth.
10. John Gilbert Shacklett (1859-1920). John moved to Harvey County, Kansas where he farmed and was married to Mattie Haynes Bewley on Feb. 21, 1883. John next moved to Wichita where he lived in the 400 block of south Ellis Street, operating a neighborhood grocery store located near his home. Following the death of his first wife Mattie in 1913, John married Julia D. Allen. On May 6, 1920, John went to the house where his estranged wife, Julia, lived and shot her using a shotgun. John soon committed suicide by turning a handgun on himself, dying shortly from the wounds. Julia died from her gunshot wounds on June the 3rd. John and Mattie are buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita. Julia is buried in another location in that cemetery in an unmarked grave.
