Mr. Benjamin Burland, for many years collector of customs at St. Johns, Quebec, died at Port Kent, where he had resided since his retirement some twelve or thirteen years ago. He was well known to many in Iberville district, and had attained a ripe age. He was the father of Dr. W. B. Burland, of Montreal.
