Lilly Smith was born about 1870 in Jackson County, North Carolina, the second child of Lewis J. Smith (1843-1901) and Clara Almira Coward Smith (1847-1915). She died approximately two years later. She is merely listed in Linden J. Coward's 1953 book on Coward-Rogers family history as "Lilly, who died in infancy," thus the dates are approximate. Her gravestone bears no dates. The rest of the family are interred at the East LaPorte Cemetery.
