Mrs. Catherine Lawson, widow of the late James Lawson, died on February 28 at the home of her son, Johnston, of East Wheatfield township, aged 78 years and 6 months. Her husband died a number of years ago. Another son, Jacob, of Altoona, is living. Her death was due to general debility incident to old age. She had been a member of the Presbyterian church for over 60 years. One sister, Mrs. Nancy Fox, of East Wheatfield township, and two brothers, Hugh Fry of Blacklick and James Fry, of Nineveh, survive her. The funeral services were conducted on Thursday by her pastor, Rev. McCutcheon, and interment was made in the Armagh cemetery.
