She was born in Mohnton to the late Benjamin Franklin and Mamie (Snader) Steffy and was the wife of the late Jonathan H. Boyer who passed away in 2005.
She was a member of the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Reamstown. She enjoyed cooking, and being a caregiver to others.
Bernice formerly worked as a caregiver in the personal care section of the Colonial Lodge.
Bernice is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara F., wife of Paul E. Brubaker, Jr. of Ephrata, and Constance M. Boyer at home; 2 granddaughters, Angela M. Brubaker, and Amanda S. Groff.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mabel Witwer, Goldie Beamesderfer, and Etta Forry.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Joel Hertzog officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
