Rev. Jamieson was one of the first Anglican missionaries to serve on Walpole Island, Ontario to the various Indian tribes located there. He was there from 1845-1885, while living in Algonac, MI from approx. 1860-1885. He helped establish many parishes along the Blue Water area, including St. Andrews (a Michigan Historical Landmark) in Algonac, St. Pauls, St. Clair and Harson's Island, St. Mark's, Marine City and from a trust fund, about a dozen parishes in Ontario.
