Marcella M. Broster, 89, of Grayville, IL passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on August 12, 1926 in White County, IL the daughter of Samuel and Genevieve (Garner) Knight. Marcella married William “Bert” Broster on August 11, 1944 and together they enjoyed fifty five years of marriage before his passing in May 2000.
Marcella was very kind hearted and enjoyed taking care of others. In her free time she enjoyed baking and was famous for her coconut cream pies. Marcella was active in the Grayville Senior Citizens and loved line dancing and participating in game night at the center. She also enjoyed outings and lunches with the local red hat ladies. Marcella was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grayville. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Sally) Broster of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Jon (Anna) Broster of Louisville, KY; two step grandchildren, George (Shelley) Sullivan of Katy, TX and Liz (Paul) Sullivan Cruz of San Antonio, TX; two great granddaughters, Celia and Lucy Broster; step great grandchildren, Christian, Benjamin and Joseph Sullivan, Pete, Josh, Espen and Logan Cruz; two brothers, Sam (Sue) Knight of St. Louis, MO and Robert (Sharolene) Knight of Grayville, IL.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert; and brother, Don Knight.
