Dick Hansen, 76, Waterloo, formerly of Denver, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Monday, June 20, 2016.

He was born May 7, 1940 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, son of Edmund and June Tesdahl Hansen. Dick graduated from Winterset High School in 1958 and attended Creston Community College.

He married Deloris E. Davis and they later divorced.

In 1971 he joined Peoples Bank & Trust and worked there until 1982 when he joined First Security State Bank where he served as the Chairman, CEO and President until retiring in 2005.

He served in the Iowa Air National Guard from 1957‑1963.

Dick was a member of Waterloo Elk's Lodge, Sunnyside Country Club and Waterloo Lion's Club, and had been a Deacon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his son, Dennis (Jacqui) Hansen of Waverly, IA; daughter, Diane Hansen of White Bear Lake, MN; five grandchildren: Katie Hansen, Zachary Hansen, Corey Johnson, Aaron Johnson, and Samantha Johnson; a brother, Gordon (Carolyn) Hansen of Normal, IL; and a sister‑in‑law, Sharon Hansen of Des Moines.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his longtime companion, Karen Chapman, and brother, Edmund C. Hansen Jr.

Services: memorial service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, 1207 Kimball Ave, Waterloo
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Locke Funeral Home
Cemetery: inurnment in Belmond Cemetery, Belmond, Iowa
