Edmund Clifford Hansen, Jr., 66, was taken by his Merciful Lord on July 27, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines with a massive heart attack after suffering several years with Diffuse Lewy Bodies. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31 at Adlersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale.
After graduation from Renwick High School, he graduated from Eagle Grove Jr. College and continued his education at Drake University. He was employed by Bridgestone Firestone for 34 years in the Distribution and Traffic Departments. Ed also was a self employed income tax preparer and later owned a Rainbow Carpet Dyeing and Cleaning Franchise. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and rebuilding cars.
He is survived by Sharon, his wife of 39 years; daughter, Valerie McKenney; son David V. of Urbandale; daughter, Victoria Springer (Paul) of Bryan, TX; three grandchildren; and brothers, Richard K. of Denver, IA and Gordon of Minier, IL.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Caldwell Raddatz Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease Association, Salvation Army or his church.
