Katharine and her three siblings emigrated to the US with their parents circa 1854. Sometime between the mid to late 50's the family settled a few miles east of Mineral Point, in Waldwick Town (township)

--Note: The birthdates of the siblings don't make sense. Matthias and John were born in June while Katharine celebrated her birth in December.

Matthias, John and Nicholas were listed as residents of their parents' household in the 1870 US Census. The 1875 Wisconsin census listed 4 males and 3 females on the farm.

Children:
Over a span of 10 years, 1890 to 1900, Katharine's son Joseph and all three of her daughters - Catherine, Lizzie, and Mary - moved to Granville, Sioux County, Iowa.

Her sons Nicolas and John P. farmed in Iowa County up through 1930, but their whereabouts afterward are unknown.
