Mildred was the youngest of seven children born to Bertha Auguste (Belling) and Charles H. Witt. She never married and lived her entire life in Appleton.

Age 63, died at 7 a.m. Saturday following an eight month illness. She was born May 3, 1919, in Appleton, where she had been a resident all of her life. Miss Witt had been employed at Zwicker Knitting Mill for over 40 years until her retirement last April. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Witt, Sr., Neenah; a sister, Mrs. Carl H. (Hanna) Simon, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Pearl) Witt, Appleton; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 123 S. Mason Street, with the Rev. David Pagel officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, from 4 until 9 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
