Mr. Harrigfeld was born May 20, 1894, at Hoskins, Neb. and came to Ashton with this parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Harrigfeld in 1901. They were among the first settlers in the Ashton area, his father was one of the members of the Ashton Townsite Council.
As a veteran of World War I, he served with the medical corps in France.
Mr. Harrigfeld was married to Frieda Kandler of Ashton, and to this union six sons were born. He farmed at Squirrel until 1941 when he moved to Ashton.
He is survived by his widow, Frieda Kandler Harrigfeld and his six sons: Chris Harrigfeld, Eugene, Ore.; William Harrigfeld Jr., Hollywood, Calif.; John Harrigfeld, Chicago, Ill.; Fritz Harrigfeld, Ernest Harrigfeld and Ira Harrigfeld, all of Ashton; one brother and four sisters: George Harrigfeld Sr., Mrs. W. F. Griffel, Ashton; Mrs. Gilbert Orme, St. Anthony; Mrs. Arthur Clouse, Billings, Mont.; Mrs. Lew Williams, Boise; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were William Garz, Lawrence Orme, and J. H. Van Deusen, Dan Reinmann, W. H. Hargis, Rudolph Habekost. Honorary pallbearers were Carl C. Lenz, Carl C. Herre, Milt Hansen, Adolph Bolland and John Amen.
Floral arrangements were by the Mary Martha League and the Ashton American Legion Auxiliary.
Burial was in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery, directed by the Kiser Funeral Home.
