OBITUARY: Death of Henry Woods
Henry Woods died at his home on Nason street about 2 o'clock Sat. morning. He had been troubled for several weeks by an abscess in his head. About 10 days ago he was taken with tubercular consumption which resulted in his death.
Mr. Woods was born in Moira, N.Y., June 19, 1849. He came to St. Albans when 15 years old and this had been his home ever since. For many years he was employed as a machinist in the railroad shops. Mr. Woods was a member of the Brigade band for 25 years. He leaves a wife and eight children, six girls and two boys. His oldest son Daniel is employed as a cashier of the New York, New Haven & Hartford road at Leominster, Mass. Mr. Woods had a large circle of friends and was known in St. Albans as an honest, industrious citizen, one of the kind of men a community can ill afford to lose. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning.
