Mrs. LeFevre was born in Lexington, South Carolina, on July 7, 1919. She was a daughter of the late Walter L. Corley and Ella Julia Kaminer Corley. She was a 1944 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, and retired in 1981 as a registered nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Gladys was a faithful member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Incarnation.
Mom loved Jesus and was devoted in love to her husband, Ben, and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed baking pound cakes, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed many hours and days with her dear friend, Ms. Elizabeth Addy, playing “Spite and Malice” card games.
We will always remember Mom as the most kind-hearted, beautiful and ever-giving spirit. She lived her life to the fullest and leaves behind a legacy of love and sweet memories for our family and friends. May she forever rest in God’s loving arms until we meet again.
Survivors are her daughters, Cheryl Dixon (David) of Charlotte, N.C. and Debbie Potts (Chuck) of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Kelker (Paul), Jason Potts, Ross Potts (Natalie), Gregory LeFevre (Danielle) and Darlene LeFevre; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ben; son, Buddy; sisters, Eva Drafts, Ruth Areheart, Emma Areheart, Estelle Meetze, Mary Drafts, Ella Mae Drafts and Ellen Corley; brothers, John , David, Michael, Wilbur and Jack Corley.
Memorials may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, 3005 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205.
