DOMINIC F. PERRY

YOUNGSTOWN – Dominic F. Perry, 86, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Perry was born July 14, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of the late Frank and Barbara Perry. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A lifelong resident of Youngstown, “Dom” was well-known in the community as owner of Dom Perry Tailors and Haberdashery, established in the 1950s, which was frequented by many of Youngstown’s fashionable men and women. In later years, he was owner/CEO of Daylight Cleaning Services.

Dom had a true passion for the outdoors and enjoyed golf at Tippecanoe and Fonderlac Country Clubs for over 30 years. In later years, his passion led him to his own backyard, where he filled many hours “clearing the woods” and building his famous bonfires. He was a devoted health enthusiast who enjoyed activities at the Youngstown YMCA and made many friends there.

The real joy of Dom’s life was his family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Laura (Santon) Perry, with whom he was blessed with five children: Carla (Paul) Evanoff of Youngstown, Patricia (Gary) Fonzi of Danville, Calif., Dominic (Peggy) Perry of Rocky River, Theresa (Jim) Parks of Upper Arlington and Anthony (Gail) Perry of Columbus.

In addition, Dom leaves nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Paul (Alyssa) Evanoff and children Gregory and Derek; Angela, Dominic (Juliet), Sara and Catherine Perry; Daniel and Elizabeth Fonzi; and Nicholas and Perry D’Angelo.

Dom was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rose and Barbara, and two brothers, Paul and John.

Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Church with the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504 or Ursuline High School, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
