Funeral for Christine Clower, 83, of Alvord was to be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the First Baptist Church in Alvord. The Rev. Bill Cleveland was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Alvord Cemetery.
Clower died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in Alvord.
Born April 22, 1923, in Alvord to Warren Peter Sisk and Ruth Evalina Worthen, she married Curg Thompson Clower March 4, 1948, in Alvord. She owned Clower Grocery in Alvord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord. She served and volunteered in church and community organizations since she retired from working at the store.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenda Goodwin of Alvord, Donna Endres of Decatur and Carol Wise of Justin; five grandchildren, Shelly Tefertiller, Meagan Endres, Brittany Hammel, Rachel Endres and Kayla Wise; and three great-grandsons.
The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church building fund and the city of Alvord library fund.
