Lloyd Allen Adams, age 79, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.

Lloyd was born November 11, 1936 in Oakland City, IN, the son of John Adams and Dorothy Lamon. He was united in marriage to Gladyce “Cookie” Weightman. He later married Evelyn Benaroo. Both preceded him in death.

Lloyd is also survived by his six children, Jan Taylor and husband J.T. of Boise, Idaho, Debra Sutton of Shelbina, MO, Jackie Drage and husband Douglas of Columbia, MO, Kelly Patton and husband Jeff of Overland Park, KS, Curt Connaway of Sedalia, MO, and Margie Lorey and husband Matt of Shelbina, MO; two step-children, Carla Weber of California, and Edward Pena of El Cajon, California; sixteen grandchildren, Kyle, Meagan, Danielle, Ryan, Tristan, Katie, Christopher, Jon, Ysabelle, Lily, Derek, Shelby, Maya, Nicholas, Heidi, and TJ; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond “Woody” Adams of Washington, MO, and Richard Adams of Evansville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lloyd spent most of his life in the Navy for more than 20 years, where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, reading, and listening to the music group, Queen. He loved cars, especially Jaguars. Playing with his great-grandchildren was his biggest joy.

Visitation Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 9am to 11am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. A memorial service will follow at 11am. Inurnment will be at Jacksonville Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO following the service. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post# 376.
