Pheba A. (Keller) Payne was the daughter of Samuel Keller and Elizabeth (Gibson) Keller. She married George Sherman Payne on April 3rd, 1886.

From her obituary in the Maryville times on 22 Nov 1934: Aunt Pheba Payne, age 72 years, 4 months and 22 days, left this world of cares Thursday night, Nov. 16, 1934 about 10 o'clock to take her place of rest around God's White Throne. Professing her faith in Christ in 1908 and joining the church soon after profession, being a faithful member as long as her health permitted. She was a consecrated Christian, having family prayer every night and living a happy married life with Mr. Sherman Payne, 48 years. The deceased will be missed in her home and community for her goodness and kind words. In visiting her we many times found her reading her Bible, always ready to give a smile and kind word. She was never known to be found angry. Having read the Bible through 12 times or more, her path was made easy to Eternity. There never was a day passed that she did not read a portion of the Holy Bible, even the last day of her life. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. ~A friend
