His obituary in the Maryville Enterprise on October 25, 1923 reads as follows:

Geo. W. Keller was born in Blount County, November 10, 1847, and married Miss Ellen Thompson, who died November 25, 1883, after living with him for five years and bearing three children.

Mr. Keller died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Sherman Payne, October 10, 1923, just one month to a day before his 76th birthday.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Geo. F Carr, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Alcoa, services and burial were at Liberty Church, Blount County.

Mr. Keller was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn his death three children as follows: Ike Keller of Hazard, Ky., Andy Keller of Mint, Tenn., Mrs. Fronia Potter of Hazard, Ky. He also had thirteen brothers and sisters, of whom eight are living.

Mr. Keller had been suffering for some time from a fall, and the end came suddenly and unexpected.
