Mrs. Ross was born April 20, 1917 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late George and Edith Holland Hurley. She passed away Sunday August 22, 2004 at the Summerlin Lane Nursing Home in Bastrop. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Eugie Ross, and a son; Jackson Eugene Ross.
Mrs. Hazel Ross was a member the Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter #66 in Oak Grove. She was also a longtime member of the Goodwill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the WMU. Upon moving to Bastrop she transferred her membership to the First Baptist Church of Bastrop.
Surviving Mrs. Ross are her two sisters; Mrs. Euna Fair and Mrs. Mamie Sadler both of Bastrop, seven nieces; Barbara King, Christine Sorenson, Edith Bernard, Lucille Whetstone, Faye Leachman, Mary Bryan, and Dianne King, two nephews; Dennis Courtney and Donald Sadler, twenty-eight great nieces and nephews, fifty-eight great-great nieces and nephews, and ten great-great-great nieces and nephews.
