Mary Ann was born in Sept 1873 near Forest Cottage, Clinton County, Ky. She was the fifth child of 9 children born to Absalom "Abner" and Elizabeth (Jones) Dicken. She married Alvin Young in 1892 and they had one son, Alvin Herbert Young. Her husband died in 1895 at the age of 25. She was 21. A few years later she married William Riley Brown. They had 3 children, Omer, Corbet "Dick", and Sarah. By 1910 the Brown family had purchased and resides on a farm near Campbellsville, Taylor Co., Ky. Mary Ann died there in 1928 and is buried in the Canada Family (Kenedy) Cemetery in Atchison or Elkhorn, possibly on Robinson Rd. This cemetery may have had graves moved or is under water from the Green River Dam created by the 1938 Flood Control Act. There's no evidence that Mary Ann's grave was moved to this Campbellsville Cemetery or elsewhere.

Mrs. Mary Ann Brown, the wife of Mr. W. R. Brown, living in the Atchison section of the county, died at their home Monday after a short illness from intestinal derangement. She was fifty-five years old. She is survived by her husband and several children. Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, at the home, conducted by Rev. G.
