Leon Stanley a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 24, 2006, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on March 11, 1923, in Grady County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Clarence and Emma Stanley. Leon was a wonderful, honest man. He always said how having a ranch with horses and cattle was his dream. He married Lenna Faye Smith in May of 1944. Years later, together they were able to achieve that dream along with two children, Leon Lamon, Jr. and Lonna Faye. Leon loved his family and as the years passed he looked forward to their visits. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren. "Papa" as they called him, instilled his love for ranching while spoiling them with horse and tractor rides. Papa was a strong, loving and caring role model in his children and grandchildren's lives. Leon was a hard worker up until the end. He could always find a way to fix something. He was constantly figuring out ways to make ranching easier and he always achieved that goal.

Leon loved to sing and play his guitar to worship his Savior Jesus Christ, and entertain those around him. He was a "buddy" to everyone who knew him. He was blessed to have loved and to be loved also by his wife Ruby Stanley and her children for the past eleven years. He shall always be loved and missed but never forgotten.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Evelyn Rolen, and wife Lenna Faye Smith-Stanley. He leaves behind, but will see again someday, his son, Lamon Stanley and wife Linda, his daughter Lonna Faye Stanley-Bennett and husband Rodney, his grandson; Lanny Stanley and wife Kerrie, his granddaughter; Maranda Williams and husband Dan, grandson, Lee Stanley and wife Keri, granddaughter, Amy Little and husband, Jeff. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren; Kori Stanley, Grant Williams, Logan Stanley, Harrison Williams, his loving wife, Ruby Stanley and her children, one sister, Irene Stanley-Wilkerson and husband Dub, brothers, L. B. Hoyle and wife Ina, Edward Hoyle and wife Nancy, and a host of other relatives.

We love you Dad/Papa and miss you already.
