Dorothy Husted, age 78, of Altapass Highway in Spruce Pine died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.

Born on October 5, 1939 in Ottawa, IL, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sina Garland Arwood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Husted who passed away in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Carl and John Arwood and her sister; Hazel Syverson.

Dorothy will be remembered as a loving person that was the greatest mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a homemaker at heart that enjoyed cooking and playing Bingo.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Bettie H. Smith and husband, Randy of Morganton and Patricia Husted of Spruce Pine; her son; Clyde Husted of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Chris Woodby and wife, Myhria of Erwin, TN; Jason Woodby and Erin Peebles of Chester, VA; Sarah Franklin of Morganton; Amanda Phelps and Rocky Fisher of Burnsville; Sina Husted of Spruce Pine; Tim Husted and Stacey Vallejo of Elizabethton, TN; Bradley Husted of Spruce Pine and Benjamin Husted of Spruce Pine; twelve great grandchildren; her sister; Bettie A. McConnaughhay of Pontiac, IL; special friend; Charles Wise of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Dorothy Husted on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony McKinney officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
