He was born in Germany, Nov. 23, 1869, coming to Ionia when one year old, living there until he moved to Otter Lake, 31 years ago.

Surviving are: Son, Frank, of Otter Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Heddon of Flint, Bertha Craig of Flint, and Anna Guernsey of Ionia; three brothers, John, Lewis and Peter of Ionia; sister, Mary Slowinski of Ionia; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
