Carl Warren Carlson died Nov. 24 while working on the Yaak in Montana.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry with Rev. Larry Nelson officiating. Burial followed at the Grandview Cemetery.
Warren Carlson was born Aug. 4, 1932 in Bonners Ferry to Walter and Cora Carlson. He attended schools in Bonners Ferry and college in California, after which he returned to Bonners Ferry.
He worked for six months and then joined the U.S. Army and served in the International Patrol in Vienna, Austria. He separated from the Army on Dec. 7, 1954, and returned to Bonners Ferry.
Me married Myrna Phillips on Dec. 28, 1954 in Bonners Ferry. He went to work in the woods, and in 1958, was employed at the Moyie River Lumber Company. He was employed by the Louisiana-Pacific Lumber Company at the time of his death.
Carlson loved his family and enjoyed gardening, wood working and being in the out-of-doors, where he hunted and fished. He was also a member of the HEART CB Club.
Carlson is survived by his wife, Myrna Carlson of Bonners Ferry; two sons, Wayne Carlson and Richard Carlson of Bonners Ferry; two grandchildren, Kyle and Monica Carlson of Bonners Ferry; his parents, Cora and Kenneth Brown of Flosum, Calif.; brothers Eugene Carlson of Wheatland, Calif., and Arlo Carlson of Roseville, Calif.; and Merle Carlson of Grassvalley, Calif.; two sisters, Ellen Prince of Huntsville, Ala., and Anna Marie Scarbary of Pilot Hill, Calif.; one uncle, Ray Everhart of Bonners Ferry and other numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association or the Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry.
