Obit for Eugene A. Carlson

Born Sept. 13, 1929 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Taken by our lord and entered into rest on January 8, 2008, in Colorado Springs.

Preceded in death by his wife Josephine, sister Ellen, brothers Warren and Benny. Survived by daughter Jo Ann of Wheatland, wife Ann of Colorado Springs, brother Meryl, sister Anna Marie, step daughters Anita, Julia, Kathy, step sons John, Paul, step grandchildren, God daughter Rachael and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graduate of Chico State, he received his BA in Industrial Arts and credentials in teaching. He taught Industrial Arts and coached varsity baseball at East Nicolaus High School from 1955-1964, and Wheatland High School teaching Industrial Arts, Math and Driver Training from 196?-1985. He regrettably retired at this time due to a major illness.

A long term resident of Wheatland fro over 40 years, he spent the last 15 years traveling with family throughout the United States and Hawaii before settling in Colorado. having an on going thirst for knowledge, he never quit absorbing or sharing that knowledge; a teacher to the end. He was a fighter within himself, overcoming serious illnesses numerous times and proud to talk about it. Kind and loving, gentle yet strong, a lover of children, animals and life. He and his little dog were inseparable.

Dad, you are loved by many and missed by all. I love you and miss you.

A Memorial Service and Mass will be on January 19, 2008 at 11:00, St. Daniels Catholic Church in Wheatland with Guard presented by Knights of Columbus. Final resting place will be Wheatland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in his name be made to the charity of your choice.
