Dorthy May Lugo, 89, of Nampa, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at a local care center. Dorthy was born on July 4, 1926 in Olene, OR to parents Leroy and Katie Adams. As a child the family moved around a lot but Dorthy loved spending time with her Dad working on the family farm. Dorthy spent her time sewing and reading but especially loved spending time in their garden with her husband Carlos.

Dorthy is survived by her 3 children Dennis (Cathy) Phillips of Salem, OR; Daniel (Christine) Phillips of Riverbank, CA; and Stanley (Betty) Phillips of Coquille, OR; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that all had a special place in Dorthy’s heart. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlos Lugo and several brothers and sisters.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

At her request no services were held and her remains were scattered at one of Dorthy's favorite locations.
