Mr. Banks was born April 14, 1929 in Buncombe County and was a resident of Mohawk since 1988. Mack retired as a supervisor from CP&L. He enjoyed farming and his cattle.
He was a son of the late Ed and Elizabeth Scott Banks. Also preceding him in death were sister, Lee Shope; brothers, Scott and Frazier Banks.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Banks Ray and husband L.D. of Sevierville, TN; sons, Mike Banks, Tim Banks and wife Melissa, of Barnardsville, Keith Banks and wife Sherry, and Calvin Banks of Dandridge, TN; brothers, Parks Banks and wife Carol of Barnardsville, Fred Banks and wife Ruth of Midway, TN, Blaine Banks and wife Betty of Barnardsville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Banks of Barnardsville; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016, West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville, with Reverend Roy Shepherd officiating. (Edited by Jeff Lovelace.)
