ALBERT KINSER BETWEEN AGE 2-3LOOKS LIKE HE IS STANDING ON THE US FLAG. AND HAS JUST COME IN FROM THE FIELDS. HARD TO BELIEVE HE GREW INTO THE GOOD LOOKING GUY SEEN IN THE GLAMOR SHOT A FEW PHOTOS BELOW.

Uncle Albert in training at Camp Bowie,1941. he went from here to the east coast for more training, then to North Africa then to Salerno, Italy. where he was captured and remained a POW until 1945.

3 YEARS AFTER ALBERT'S RETURN FROM WW II IN 1945 HE MET ADA LA VERNE THORNTON FROM BAIRD, TX.LA VERNE IS ON THE LEFT, ALBERT IS ON THE RIGHT. THEY FELL IN LOVE AND FOR THE BOTH OF THEM THEY WERE THE LOVES OF EACH OTHERS LIVES.IN MID SEPTEMBER, 1948, HIS MOTHER AND 2 SISTERS GAVE THEM A PRE-WEDDING DINNER. THEY WERE TO BE MARRIED ONE WEEK LATER. THAT EVENING ON THE WAY HOME THERE WAS A TRAGIC CAR WRECK AND LA VERNE
DIED AT THE SCENE. LIFE NEVER REALLY CONNECTED FOR UNCLE ALBERT AFTER THIS EVENT.THE LITTLE PERSON IN BACK OF UNCLE ALBERT IS NANCY LOU HUMPHREY AGE 3 AND MY SISTER(RON).

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN 1942 JUST BEFORE UNCLE ALBERT WAS SHIPPED OVERSEAS TO NORTH AFRICA IN WWII. AL IS IN FOREGROUND. TO HIS RIGHT AND BEHIND IS HIS MOTHER, DONA MOORE KINSER HIS MOTHER. THE LITTLE GIRL IS HIS NIECE, JOY PACE AGE AROUND 5. IS IN FRONT OF HER GRAND MOTHER, DONA.

THE TAYLOR Co.war vets have established a memorial on the north side of the courthouse in Abilene, TX. The center piece is a statue about 15 feet high depecting a combat soldier. Surrounding the statue are bricks inscribed with information about the person you wish to honor. In April 2002, Albert's sisters, Marie and Farris, had a brick placed in this memorial. It reads Albert F. Kinser, 36th Division, WWII, POW, 1915-1981 BY THE STATUE ARE TWO OF UNCLE ALBERT'S GREAT NEPHEWS, BRADLEY HUMPHREY AND JOSHUA HUMPHREY. PHOTO TAKEN THANKSGIVING 2004.

THE THREE GERMAN SISTERS, WHOSE FAMILY OWNED THE FARM WHERE UNCLE ALBERT WORKED WHEN HE WAS A POW FOR ABOUT THREE YEARS. STANDING ON THE RIGHT IS THE OLDEST SISTER, GRETE KLATT. SITTING TO HER LEFT IS A YOUNGER SISTER, GERDA KLATT. SITTING IS THE YOUNGEST SISTER, WHO IS MARRIED. HER NAME IS ESTA KLATT/FAJD. BE SURE TO READ THE UNCLE ALBERT'S BIO TO LEARN ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THESE SISTERS.

AFTER HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION OUR UNCLE ALBERT WENT TO WORK AT THE MEDICAL ARTS PHARMACY IN DOWNTOWN ABILENE, TEXAS. HE WAS LISTED IN THE 1940 CENSUS AS A FOUNTAIN CLERK. HE WORKED THERE UNTIL WAR WAS DECLAIRRED ON JAPAN IN 1941. AFTER A YEAR AS A CLERK HE BECAME THE THE FOUNTAIN MANAGER. EVERY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AFTER THE MOVIE I(RON)WOULD GO TO THE FOUNTAIN WHERE UNCLE ALBERT WOULD TREAT ME TO AN ICE CREAM CONE AND GIVE ME ALL THE COMIC BOOKS THAT THE DISTRIBUTOR HAD LEFT AS OUT OF DATE COMICS. THERE WERE USUALLY 10 OR 12. IT WAS QUITE A BONANZA FOR ME AS AN 8 YEAR OLD. THE UPSTAIR FLOORS HOUSED ABOUT 10 DOCTORS.

UNCLE ALBERT'S FIRST MILITARY DUTY WAS AT CAMP BOWIE, BROWNWOOD, TX. THIS DEPECTS A MILITARY REVIEW BEING CONDUCTED AT THAT CAMP. UNCLE ALBERT IS SOME WHERE IN THIS REVIEW IN 1941.
