Alessandro "Alex" Bertolucci was born in Tassignano, Lucca, Italy on September 28, 1947. Tassignano is a village that belongs to the municipality of Capannori in Lucca, Italy. He was 6 months old when the family moved to Bakersfield, California. Alex passed away on May 20, 2016, joining his wife Darlene in eternity. Darlene passed away on January 15, 2015.

Alex graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1965. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Army. He married the love of his life, Darlene De La Rosa, in 1974. They shared a special bond and were devoted to each other the entire 42 years of their marriage. Alex retired from Sierra International in December 2014 after 25 years. He enjoyed going to casinos, watching boxing and spending time with his granddaughters. He made many friends over the 20 years of his daily breakfasts at Donna Kaye's Cafe.

Alex was preceded in death by his wife Darlene, and his parents Pietro and Livia Bertolucci.

Alex is survived by 1 son, 2 granddaughters, 1 sister and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
