Ellsworth was a hired hand on the farm of Sarah Sanders Dean and Levi Dean. Very shortly after Levi's death Ellsworth and Sarah Jane married. Sarah had six children with her first husband Levi Dean. Ellsworth and Sarah had two children Harry Harrison and Emily A. Thompson. Two other little girls show up on one census and are called daughters but both appear to have died before the next census or they were mis-represented on the census as daughters of Ellsworth and Sarah and were there only temporality [perhaps as grandchildren] from her first marriage.

Ellsworth's mother is Harriet Darst b: 1840 in Troy, Delaware Co., Ohio. She was the daughter of William Darst & Margaret Moyer. Only one document states the name of Ellsworth's father and that is Thomas Thompson. It is not known where he was born, died, or when he married Harriet or if in fact the statement is true. Ellsworth's sister, Kate, states her father as Thomas Thompson on her wedding
application.

In 1870 Harriet is married to Thomas Harland and living in Joliet, Illinois with Thomas Harland, her husband, and Ellsworth and Kate ,her children, her father and her brother Silas.

By 1878 Harriet is not with this family and presumed dead.

In 1880 and 1885 Effie Darst Heitz[Anthony], is living in York, York Co. Nebraska. Effie Darst is the sister to Harriet and I presume this was the connection for Ellsworth and his sister Kate to leave Illinois and come to York, Ne.

Ellsworth is in York Co. Ne in 1880 as well.
One obituary for Ellsworth listed his name as Alex. Could be a nickname or a middle name. His death certificate lists him as Ellsworth and birth year of 1862. The 1870 census lists his birth year as 1864 and says he is 6 years old.
Ellsworth marriage to Sarah: March 13, 1886 Seward Nebraska

Looking for any information regarding his paternal family [unknown] in Ohio and Illinois.
