Martha C. Schrock, 88, of Arvada, Colorado, formerly of Kalona, passed away April 15, 2016 at Cedars Health Care Center in Lakewood, Colorado. A celebration of life was held April 21, 2016 in Colorado. Memorials may be directed to Christ Community Covenant Church, Arvada, Colorado.
Martha C. Helmuth was born April 27, 1927 in rural Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Christian I. and Mary (Miller) Helmuth. She was united in marriage to Arthur B. Schrock on February 17, 1949 in Kalona. The couple lived in the Kalona area until they moved to Prairie City in 1964 and finally moved to Arvada, Colorado in 1977. Martha was an active charter member of Christ Community Covenant Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, putting jigsaw puzzles together and loved to share stores of her family with friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her four children: Mary Egan of Carol Stream, Illinois, Virginia (Donald) Geetings of Pella, Iowa, Clarence (Shirley) Schrock of Washington, Iowa and Charles (Denise) Schrock of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and their families; brother Daniel (Reva) Helmuth of Iowa City; sister-in-law: Dorothy Helmuth of Kalona; sisters-in-law: Susie (Alvin) Peachy of Fort Hill, Pennsylvania, Edna Schrock of Salisbury, Pennsylvania and Rachel (Milton) Beachy of Salisbury, Pennsylvania.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings: Magdalena, William Helmuth, Andrew Helmuth, John Helmuth, Menno Helmuth, Eli Helmuth and Lydia Gnagey; great-grandchild: Kaleb Compton.
