Mrs. DeVoss was born December 22, 1926 at Franklin, Kansas the daughter of Frank and mary Sudolcan Ales.
Betty was a homemaker and registered nurse. She was raised in Franklin and graduated from Arma High School. She later attended Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and received a degree in nursing. She worked at Pittsburg State University in student health services. She lived most of her life in Frontenac.
She married Raymond Pallucca in Frontenac, Kansas. Mr. Pallucca preceded her in death in 1993. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and the Sacred Heart Altar Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Pallucca and her husband Branko Tatarevic of Chicago, Illinois, a granddaughter, Hallie Pallucca of Chicago, three sisters, Eleanor Modderman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Frances O'Banion of Pamona, Kansas, and Verna Hasselman of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother, Jim Ales of Wichita, Kansas, and two sister-in-laws, Frances Ales and Emma Louise Ales both of Arma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Stephen Pallucca, three sisters, Mary Belmonte, Anne Irvin, and Mildred Ales, and five brothers, Edward Ales, Frank Ales, Thomas Ales Sr., Charles Ales, and William Ales.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, Kansas with Father Thomas Stroot as the celebrant. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the family will receive friends until 7 p.m. following the rosary.
Friends may also call 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
