Funeral services for Mr. George W. Rodgers, Sr. of Cullen, LA were held at 2PM Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Bailey Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. Sir Rupert Nichols officiating. Interment was in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Rodgers was born December 25, 1912 and died December 6, 2003. He was a member of the Cotton Valley Assembly of God Church, and retired from International Paper Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Crittenden Rodgers on December 17, 1997.

He was survived by his children; Vera R. Craft and husband, Buddy, of Plain Dealing, LA, George Rodgers, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Cleveland, TX, Obie R. Thompson and husband, Wayne, of Cotton Valley, LA, Mary R. May of Vivian, LA, Robert Rodgers of Houston, TX, David Rodgers of Cullen, LA, and Kay R. Jarrett and husband, Tommie, of Nacogdoches, TX; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
