Carl F. "Kutch" Kutcher Jr., 73, of Kahoka, Mo., died at his daughter's home in Crawfordsville following a three–year battle with cancer.

Born in Antioch, Mo., he was the son of Carl F. and Myrtle L. Hamner Kutcher. He married Mary Lou Kilkenny. He later married Joyce Holt. She preceded him in death.

He attended Clark County rural schools and graduated from Kahoka High School. He served in the military during the Korean War. He operated a plumbing business in Kahoka. He also worked at the former Lazy R Country Club. He farmed for Ralph Ball and worked for the Clark County R–1 School District for many years. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. He coached softball and played on a fast–pitch league in his younger years. He loved baseball and was an avid Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his father of Quincy, Ill.; one son, Cory Kutcher of Erie, Pa.; three daughters, Jeanine Roberts and Lee Anne Lear, both of Crawfordsville, and Lori Helkey of Louisiana, Mo.; nine grandchildren; four great–grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Besides his second wife, he was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.


Funeral services were held at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, with the Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating.
