Funeral services for Glenda Blizzard Bailey, age 69 will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Sammy Hall will officiate.
Ms. Bailey was born on July 1, 1946 in Wrightsville, Georgia. She began her career at Southern Bell as a Phone Operator in 1967 and retired in 2006 as the first female lineman in Georgia. She was a member of Bell South Pioneers. She also worked part-time for the United States Post Office in Jacksonville, FL. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Ms. Bailey passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Huntsville, AL following a long illness.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. until 3:45 P.M. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the funeral home.
