Born May 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Dorson Porter and Lucille Dicks Porter.
He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 8 years. He later went to work at University Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Porter, James Porter, Edna Williams, Charlie Dorson, Jr., and Kenneth Porter.
He will be remembered by his siblings, Doris Odom of Gloverville, Danny Porter (Sherry) of Graniteville, Janie Anderson, of Aiken, Dennis Porter (Cindy) of Graniteville, and Nancy Thomas (John) of Oak Wood; his sister-in-law, Gail Dotson; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
