Mrs. Edna P. Williams North Augusta, SC- Mrs. Edna P. Williams, 87, of North Augusta, entered into rest on Thursday, January 19th, 2012. Born in Windsor, SC and an area resident since the age of seventeen, she was a daughter of the late Charlie D. and Lucille Dicks Porter. She retired from the Bath Mill after forty years of service as a Cloth Inspector and was a member of Langley Pentecostal Holiness Church. Miss Edna loved to work in her yard and home and kept both in immaculate condition. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother. The needs of her family were always put above her own. In addition to her parents, family members include daughters, Denise Newsome (Kelly), North Augusta, Annette Gregory (Steve), North Augusta and Cathy Campbell, Evans; siblings, Doris Odom, Langley, Phillip Porter (Ann), Burnettown, the late C.D. Porter (Ina), Bath, the late James Porter (Jeanette), Bath, the late Ruth Porter, Danny Porter, Aiken, Kenneth Porter, Aiken, Nancy Thomas, Windsor and Dennis Porter, Graniteville; and grandchildren, Ryan B. Newsome, Kelly Rae Newsome, Jenna Campbell and Cassidy Campbell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012, at 2 o'clock in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ronald Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be Ryan B. Newsome, Eddie Porter, Chuck Porter, Brian Hughes, Christopher Hughes, Michael Paul Hodo, Jack Williams and Heath Hadden. The family has asked that memorials be made to the Homebound Ministry of Woodridge Baptist Church, 401 Birch St. North Augusta, SC 29841. A special thanks goes out to all of Miss Edna's caregivers during her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Friends may call at the home of Annette and Steve Gregory. The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 21st, 2012, from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home.
