BRISTOL - Jacqueline (Bessette) Gingras, 87, of Bristol, wife of Jean-Paul Gingras, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at her home. Jacqueline was born in Katevale, Stanstead County, P.Q., Canada March 15, 1919 and was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Angeline (St. Jacques) Bessette. She came to Bristol in 1956 and was employed at Terry's Bridal Salon for 18 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Ann Church, Ladies of St. Ann Society, Past Regent of Daughters of Isabella, member and Past State President of the Franco American War Veterans Post No. 22 Ladies Auxiliary and a member and Past President of the Bristol Women's Club. In addition to her loving husband, Jean-Paul, Jackie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Lynne Gingras of Mooresville, N.C.; a daughter, Pauline Edwards of Bristol; six brothers, Jean Paul Bessette of Magog, P.Q., Canada, Rene and Claude Bessette, both of Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada, Jacques Bessette of Katevale, P.Q., Canada, and Dr. Andre Bessette of St. Leonard, P.Q., Canada; seven sisters, Raymonde Roy, Ghislaine Poupart, Lucille Blanchette, Monique Robert, and Jeanne Henri all of Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada, Francoise Blouin and Louise Roy both of Magog, P.Q., Canada; six grandchildren, Nicole Dooley, Dana B. Gingras, David L. Gingras, Michelle L. Gingras, Eric V. Edwards and Amanda Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Kaitlyn Dooley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis Bessette. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 4 and 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Ann Church Memorial Fund, 180 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010 or to the Bristol Women's Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Irene Taylor, 25 Eugene Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
