Catharina was the 5th child and 3rd daughter of Jacob and Maria Mergen Klein. Her siblings were Wilhelm Johan, who is also buried in this cemetery; Jean Nicolas (1818-1819; Barbe, (1820-1886) who married Nicolas Wiltgen; and Maria Anna (1823-1851) who married Nicolas Sinner. Wilhelm and Catharina were the only siblings to immigrate to America; the rest remained in Redange, Luxembourg.
Catharina died at the home of her daughter, Catherine Beckrich, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and one day. Her obituary states: "The funeral took place here Jan. 2, 1903, from the Catholic church of which she was a devout member. Her life was a christian one, and she has gone to the reward of her maker. Peace to her ashes."
