Anna (Krajic) Gazdik, 100 of Elgin, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at home. The daughter of Martin and Mary Krajic she was born in Trpin, Slovakia on February 11, 1906. Anna was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elgin for over 50 years, and a long-time member of the St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Gazdik; four brothers and one sister, John, Joseph, Steven, Paul and Mary, all of Slovakia. Anna is survived by her son; one daughter Sister Margaret Gazdik, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis; Grandchildren; and one sister Katheryn of Trpin, Slovakia. Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2006 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, 364 Division Street, Elgin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 272 Division, Elgin, with Father John Earl officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
