He was born May 28, 1910, in Huntsville, the son of Thomas Simon and Mary Pechin Ambrosius.
Mr. Ambrosius was a farmer in the Huntsville area and an administrator for the Illinois Association of School Boards until retiring. He had taught in Rushville schools and was formerly superintendent of the Rushville School District.
Mr. Ambrosius was a member of Woodside United Methodist Church, Huntsville Masonic Lodge, Ansar Shrine and Shriners Retirees Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Grace Baxter Ambrosius; two sons, Lloyd of Lincoln, Neb., and John of Platteville, Wis.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Loveland officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Huntsville Cemetery.
Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
